Walking In The Cotswolds
The Heart Of England Way
A 100 mile recreational footpath linking Cannock Chase to the
Cotswolds. The route visits some of the best countryside in the Midlands
and is mostly rural.
The path passes through many historic towns and villages
and runs through the newly established Forest of Arden. The route also
links with the Staffordshire Way, the Centenary Way, the Cotswold Way,
the Macmillan Way, the Oxfordshire Way and is part of the E2
Trans-European route from the South of France to Stranraer in
Scotland.
There is a guide book available from Tourist Information Centres and
local bookshops.

Be sure to keep to the correct rights of way
Follow
the coloured arrows that will guide you along the correct route. They
can be found on gateposts, trees and stiles, they can be metal, plastic
or painted, but always look around you to find them as the signs may be
damaged or faded. All public footpaths on explorer maps are marked with a green
dashed line and national trails and long distance paths are in green with diamond shapes linking the dashes.
