St James' and Ebrington C of E Primary Schools in Chipping Campden is holding an Arabian Nights Charity Ball on Saturday 7 June 2008, 7.00pm – 1.00am (in a marquee behind Campden Research Centre). Tickets cost £45 and include canapes and champagne reception, three course meal, live music and casino.

Southrop Village Fête takes place on Saturday 7th June and this years’ event has a “country” theme. There’ll be a host of related activities including falconry and dressage displays, pony and trap rides, beagles, vintage tractors, woodlice racing and the regular array of stalls and attractions (splat the rat, coconut shy, tombola, hook the duck, children’s playground, teas and cakes, strawberries and ice creams, a hog roast, Pimms tent and the locally renowned duck race). All proceeds from the event go towards Southrop Village Hall and School, and St. Peter’s Church..
