Enjoy the magical sights and thrilling spectacle of competition ballooning at Sudeley Castle this summer.

The best UK hot air balloon pilots are coming to Sudeley to compete for a place in the British Team at the 2009 European Championships.

During the weekend visitors can expect to see around 25 balloons taking to the skies with the competitors flying to targets and dropping markers to gain points for accuracy. The combination of majestic hot air balloons and exciting competitions is incredible – definitely not to be missed!

Thursday 12th and Friday 13th June are reserved for practice flights, and visitors will be able to watch the balloons take flight from 6pm*.  Competition flights will take place on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th June, with morning flights at 6am and from 6pm in the evening*.

As an additional attraction the Somerfield Balloon Parachute Team will be performing on Saturday afternoon.  See the daredevil team jump from balloons into the grounds of Sudeley Castle.

Colourful tethered balloon displays, refreshments and all of Sudeley Castle’s regular attractions make this a thrilling event for the whole family.  Craft stalls, local food and refreshments will be available on Saturday and Sunday from 10.30am to 7.00pm daily.  Sudeley’s Cafe will be open as usual on Thursday and Friday.
