There has been a mill beside the River Evenlode at Combe in Oxfordshire since before the
Domesday Book.
Combe Mill was formerly the sawmill of the Blenheim Palace estate.
This mid 19th century millĀ is
powered by both a working steam beam engine and a restored waterwheel. Visitors to Combe Mill can
see the original Cornish boiler and during steamings, working demonstrations at the forge and wood turning are given.
The former pattern makers shop on the first floor houses a collection of
clocks, tools, models and mill artefacts.
Facilities include a car park, convenient picnic area by the River Evenlode, shop, toilets and refreshments available.
