Cogges Manor Farm Museum

Cogges Manor Farm is an award winning museum that discovers what life was like for the Victorians living in West Oxfordshire. Visitors step back in time to visit a working period farm where traditional breeds of farm animals including cows, sheep, pigs and chickens live or roam around the farmyard.

Victorian maids bring the Museum to life and visitors can watch while they go about their daily work, including baking on the working kitchen range, washing, cleaning, hand-milking and butter-making.

A tour of the manor house built at least 700 years ago and a walk around the gardens will show visitors how their ancestors lived. Characters from Cogges' history will describe life on a working farm with the help of the audio tour of the 18th century barns, the ox byre, stables, pig sties, dairy and sheds.

Facilities include a cafeteria in the old milking parlour, which provides sandwiches, light lunches, drinks, home-made cakes and ice creams. There is a well-stocked shop to buy books, gifts and seasonal produce from the farm. with car parking near the entrance. Toilets are suitable for disabled people. There are significant areas of uneven ground and the first floor of the Manor House is not accessible to wheelchairs. Free disabled parking close to entrance and a plan showing the wheelchair route is available on request. Wheelchair bookable subject to availability.

The Cogges Manor Farm Museum is funded and run by West Oxfordshire Council. There are events run throughout the year and a visit is well worth the time.
